Grow a tutoring business that feels clear, warm, and sustainable.

Skillio helps tutors present themselves beautifully, accept recurring bookings, and build trust with students and families without getting buried in a noisy marketplace.

Starter Tutor

Free to join

Tutors can list for free and pay a 10% platform fee only when a lesson is completed.

Why this works for tutors

New tutors can start without risk, while more established tutors have a strong reason to upgrade once the platform is generating regular bookings.

There's also a free path to the lower rate: complete 10 lessons with the same customer and merit pricing kicks in automatically — your fee for that customer drops to 6%, and their booking fee is waived.

Tax and business responsibilities

Tutors on Skillio work as independent contractors, not employees. That means you set your own rates and hours, and you're responsible for your own tax registration, income reporting, and any GST or ABN obligations that apply to your tutoring work.

Skillio provides the booking, messaging, and payment platform that connects you with families and charges a platform fee for that service — it doesn't act as your employer or handle your tax affairs.
